Product Review: DeVita Aloe Vera Moisture Cleanser
By: Meg
Cost: 19.00
It's always a shame to be disappointed by something you are sure is going to be awesome. unfortunately, that is what happened when I bought DeVita Aloe Vera Moisture cleanser.
I was so excited to try out their products. They contain some really great ingredients without a single filler. Everything looks very natural and good for you. The packaging on their line is so cute! Their items come in lovely dark purple bottles with a vine design winding up the side. The line is very pricey, but I thought I would be getting something really great so i didn't mind forking over some dough for it.
I just couldn't wait to wash my face with it.....but then the disappointment. I immediately disliked the smell. It has a very old lady smell to it (roses and I'm not sure what else). The feel of the cleanser was very close to that of standard drug store cleansers. It even foamed up just a bit which these days concerns me a little. The first time I used it I developed a small breakout overnight. I chalked it up to the sudden change of product, or a hormone culprit. The breakout didn't really go away though, it spread. I toughed out using this for about a week and a half with no better result and decided to give up on it.
Now I hate to waste beauty product and since Megan and I have had very different reactions to many of the products we have used, I decided to hand it off to her. I hoped she would have a more desirable result. She did not unfortunately. Megan also disliked the smell and the feeling of the foam. She said that it did not make her skin "glow" like other products had, it left her looking flat.
The fact that both of us had issues with this doesn't really look good for this product. It's to bad because we had such high hopes.
now we have not tried any other DeVita products, and many of them look like they might be really great. Since they are so expensive though, it's hard for me to convince myself to give another product a try and possibly dislike it as well.
In short we'll be filing this under "do not recommend."
