Product Review: Josie Maran GOGO Instant Natural Volume Argan Mascara

By Meg
Cost: 22.00

Another week, another great, natural beauty find! I cannot seem to stay away from Josie Maran's products. Her Argan oil and pretty packaging lures me in every time. This time, her Argan-infused mascara has received my seal of approval.
I have several things that I look for in a mascara. I want it to lenghten my lashes, add volume, not look clumpy, and hold the curl I add with my lash curler. I have a whole graveyard of abandoned drug store mascara that has failed one or more of my tests in my makeup bag.
I first tried Josie's the day I bought her Argan oil. I was in Sephora tesing different things out (the best part of being at Sephora) and tested her Argan infused Mascara over the layer of drugstore dissappointment I already had on my lashes. I was mostly trying it for fun and expected a clumpy mess to congeal over the mascara I already had on. I was so impressed, it went on so smoothly and made my lashes look amazing!
I went back to Sephora last week and bought the mascara. It has all the qualities I want in my mascara: Longer? check. thicker? check. clump-free? check. doesnn't flatten my lases back out after I curl? check!
The applicator brush is really thick and coats every last very easily.  My lashes look so great with it on I can't wait to use it every day. Plus, there's nothing like being asked if your lashes are real when you are only wearing one coat of mascara! I defnitely think this one is splurge-worthy.

Weekend Special: My Dirty Relapse

By: Megan

So I knew the day would come, when for some special event I sat in somebody else's makeup chair and piled the dirty on.  Well for me that day was last saturday, for a friends pin-up themed birthday party.  Let me start by saying, I looked amazing!  There was so much energy in the salon, so much makeup flying around, curls setting, victory rolls, and boy oh boy so much hair spray.  After a long night with very little sleep and collapsing into bed, without washing the dirty off my face (I know what was I thinking!) my face and I got into a serious fight.  A long week later, after diligent care, my face is finally starting to look better.  I think that I've learned to 1. Wash my face, no matter what condition I make it home in. 2. Use as many of my own products as possible and 3. That I'm more happy then ever they I've started using natural clean products.  Before the switch I would have wondered what I did to make my face so angry, now I know why and how to fix it.

The second part of my relapse, was a trip to Salon Valin to get my hair dyed, and I pulled Meg down with me.  I have been dying my hair for as long as I can remember, and it has been just about every color.  When I switched sides, dying my hair is what I was most nervous for.  From reading 'No More Dirty Looks' I knew I was not going to try natural dyes, and I don't usually dye it anything close to my natural color.  As we headed to the salon Meg wanted to dye her virgin hair to say good bye to grays, and I was just ready for a change.  My stylist, Downtown (Yup thats her name), knows about our switch to natural products and gave us some reassuring information.  For starters she was only going to use a Demi on Meg, so the dye wouldn't be as harsh.  Secondly the dye she uses in her salon, Keune, is ammonia free!  I knew she had switched what dye she was using in the salon, but I had no idea that it would fit so much better into my new life style.  When I think about her salon now, I no longer walk in and cringe at the smell, but instead love the smell of the dye!  My head never burns when its getting done, and the color looks better then before.  My hair is super shinny still and I was long overdue for a cut, and it is looking amazing!  I cannot picture a day when I don't dye my hair, but I'm loving that the salon I love uses a product I can love too!
